Expo Flor Ecuador 2018 was one of the most anticipated events in the flower industry worldwide. They had 1,700 buyers attend from 42 countries and visited 1,300 visitors on just one single day. This year, Flor Expo Ecuador will take place from October 5-7 and again in Quito, Ecuador.
Four years ago
Expo Flor took place over three days, from September 19th to the 21st in 2018. It became an opening event for the new Metropolitan Convention Center in Quito. The former Ecuadorian president, Lenin Moreno, and former city mayor, Mauricio Rodas, were responsible for inaugurating the show. They welcomed visitors and invited them to and appreciate Ecuador's best: the best flowers, the best variety, and the best producers in the world.
600 Rose varieties and much more
The first edition of Expo Flor Ecuador included 123 exhibitors. Among them were 86 flower growers (farms), 15 breeders, 11 cargo agencies, and 11 providers and logistics operators. Visitors had the unique opportunity to meet all the most important players in the supply chain in just one place. The flowers presented during the show reflected the diversity and quality of all that Ecuador's flower industry has to offer. That included: more than 600 varieties of roses which are the main product exported by the industry, summer flowers, orchids, gypsophila, carnations, lilies, and one of the newer hot demands in the market, freeze-dried and dyed flowers.
High expectations for the 2022 edition
After three days of doing business to create new partnerships, as well as enjoying an atmosphere graced with exceptional beauty, camaraderie, and hospitality, visitors and exhibitors alike concluded that Expo Flor Ecuador exceeded their expectations and was worthy of its place among the largest flower shows and conventions worldwide. The success of the first show created high expectations for the future. The second edition was due to take place in 2020. However, the global pandemic made it necessary to postpone the event. So they took the extra time as an opportunity to prepare for an even greater show in 2022. Click here for registration.
