As of 2 January 2023, Van Beest Groothandel, wholesaler in flowers and plants, is taking over Trans-Fleur from Aalsmeer. The company will continue as Trans-Fleur. Barry and sister Alice van Beest, owners of Van Beest Groothandel, see the takeover as an opportunity to further professionalise and become more future-proof: "Trans-Fleur is a healthy company with a professional staff and good customers. The takeover will lead to synergy benefits and strengthen the key functions of our companies."
Takeover benefits
When Niels Sakkers, managing director at Trans-Fleur, announced his retirement at the end of the year, fellow director Gerard Ammerlaan was looking for a good takeover candidate. Van Beest Groothandel and Trans-Fleur have known each other for years and see this as a great opportunity to merge two wholesalers with the same core values, including personal and customer-oriented service.
New company to continue under the name Trans-Fleur
Van Beest decided not only to take over the wholesaler, but also the name Trans-Fleur. Barry van Beest thought that this name suited the new company better than Van Beest Wholesale.
Interests of employees and customers safeguarded
"For Trans-Fleur, it is important that the interests of the employees are safeguarded in the powerful new company and that our customers continue to be served optimally as they are used to," says Gerard Ammerlaan. He looks forward to working with Van Beest with confidence and will remain closely involved with the new company for the time being. He will continue his current activities under the supervision of Barry van Beest, in order to guarantee the service and quality customers were used to at Trans-Fleur in the new Trans-Fleur.
