A schoolgirl from Kazakhstan has developed a "smart" greenhouse

Gulnaz Nasyrova, a 9th grader from the Uritsky Lyceum School, designed a device called "Automated Greenhouse" and won third place at the republican competition "KazRoboProject-2021".  
"If the greenhouse allows you to get a crop quickly, then the care of vegetables, the selection of comfortable conditions takes a very long time for the vegetable grower," - said Gulnaz. Therefore, the main idea of the project was to find opportunities to facilitate the farmer's work and create an electronic control unit for the greenhouse with the simplest set of electronics.

Nowadays, automated greenhouses are capable of regulating a considerable quantity of parameters and solving possible problems connected with a human factor, but they are expensive. So Sarykol people have decided to create an autonomous budget unit to control the microclimate in an enclosed space.

According to the developers of the project, the device can work both in automatic and manual modes. With the help of 4 sensors built into the control unit, you can monitor and regulate soil moisture, temperature, carbon dioxide concentration, and light in the greenhouse.

Working in automatic mode, the unit turns on irrigation every morning. But if the moisture sensor shows that the soil has already dried out, irrigation is automatically turned on. And if the temperature has dropped below normal, the sensor turns on the heating. 

"We wanted to focus on universality and simplicity so that everyone could use our device," said  Sergey Poshatov.  
In her project, she used sensors and modules, which have low costs.

And if any of the electronics break down, the necessary part can be easily found at electronics stores or online stores at a low price. The project itself is flexible enough to be upgraded and is capable of adapting itself to any greenhouse.
