:Solid Plant Productions shows what they got to offer during Autumn Fair on 7 and 8 September

“A new collection every season”

As of March of this year, Jan van der Sar and Diego Bruijn left their employer and are working full-time at their own company, Solid Plant Productions. After combining the company work with their jobs at the Cash & Carry in Naaldwijk for the past few years, the two can now fully focus on supplying ready-made plant arrangements to wholesalers and exporters in and outside of Europe.

"Since the beginning of this year, we have also started to supply customers in the lower segment. Last year, we had a trial run with a new line of orchid bowls in Christmas themes and colors, and the responses were quite positive. We will continue on this trajectory this year in order to come up with a whole new collection for indoor arrangements for the spring," says Diego.

Jan and Diego have chosen a price range between 5 and 12.50 euros for their products in the lower segment so that they have something for everyone's needs. The large, luxurious orchid bowls they once started with remain of great importance within the company, and they continue to offer and renew them.

Variation is key
Despite the success of Solid Plant Productions, which now has four times as many sales and customers compared to when it first started, still remains a relatively young company and has to distinguish itself from the rest of the market in some way. The solution? Variety, and plenty of it.

"Every season, we come up with a new collection with new colors, and at Christmas, we always have special items. This is how we try to distinguish ourselves from the rest of the market. Sometimes you see the same things coming back every time, but everyone wants something new,'' says Diego.

This is also the opinion the two also hear from people in the field a lot. The complaint of some buyers who kept getting their hands on the same products without any variation. With their collections, they try to answer this by coming up with a variation every season that matches the season's theme and thus always remain innovative.

"This autumn, we opted for dark red, purple, dark green, brown, and gray, just to get some warm colors back into the house. And with Christmas, we get a beautiful new and unique collection, completely related to Christmas," says Jan about the upcoming season.

Autumn Fair
Jan and Diego will be present on 7 and 8 September at Royal Flora Holland's Autumn Fair with Solid Plant Productions, where they will mainly present their new autumn and Christmas collections and show what they have to offer. The luxurious Phalaenopsis arrangements are put in the spotlight, which people will immediately see when they walk into the exhibition stand, and behind this, the new plant lines will be on display.

"I think it's also just really nice for people at the fair to come and take a look so they can see that this is what's to come."

Solid Plant Productions will be present at the Autumn Fair on 7 & 8 September in booth number 2.5 and their autumn collection can already be ordered on Floriday.
