Dümmen Orange introduces Leucanthemum Sweet Daisy Izabel

"The perfect addition for a dazzling summer"

The diverse Sweet Daisy series by Dümmen Orange has recently welcomed Izabel, a new sunshine yellow variety perfect for summer perennial planting schemes. The new yellow Shasta daisy variety brings the sunshine straight into the garden, whether in a pot, on the balcony or patio, or in groups in large flower beds.

The first yellow variety of the series
This latest addition is now the seventh variety in the Leucanthemum maximum Sweet Daisy series. The six white-flowered varieties already boast a unique appearance. From classic, simple flower shapes to the more extravagant, there is something to suit all tastes. When Sweet Daisy Izabel – the first yellow variety in the assortment – starts to bloom, its petals are a bright, rich yellow in color. As the flowers mature, their color turns a delicate creamy yellow. The slightly darker center contrasts beautifully with the petals from the moment the flower starts to bloom to the moment it fades.

Ideal companion for combinations
Just like the other varieties in this series, the upright-growing Sweet Daisy Izabel features a uniform plant structure, deep green foliage, and a consistent density of sturdy flowers. It is also an ideal companion for combination planting as part of a resilient, diverse planting scheme. Izabel is extremely compact and well branching, which allows a large number of flowers to form on each plant, guaranteeing an attractive appearance.

Suitable for various pot sizes
In terms of pot sizes, growers have a choice: Sweet Daisy Izabel is very well suited for production in 15 cm pots, but they also look fantastic planted in pairs in containers from 17 cm to 19 cm in diameter. Production in these containers ensures a good balance between the plant height of around 40 to 50 cm and the pot size. Izabel young plants are supplied unpinched in 104 cell trays. We also plan to expand our popular “Power Quix” assortment to include the new Sweet Daisy variety. This is a diverse assortment of various overwintered perennial young plants intended for either 3 or 2-liter containers.

Perfect for the POS in June and July
All the varieties from our gorgeous Shasta daisy series are suitable for the POS in June and July. Each of them creates impact in its own unique way: Sweet Daisy Birdy with its large, pure white blooms, Sweet Daisy Cher with its extraordinary shaggy flowers, Sweet Daisy Rebecca with its semi-double flowers with fringed petals, and Sweet Daisy Sofie with its fluted or spoon-shaped white petals. Sweet Daisy Christine and Sweet Daisy Jane effortlessly prove that the classic flower shape works perfectly too. All the varieties flower in their first year of cultivation and reach a maximum height of 40 cm (Cher and Sofie) to approximately 50 cm (Birdy, Christine, Izabel, Jane, and Rebecca).

In addition to their great production properties, all Sweet Daisy varieties boast fantastic performance in the garden and are highly suited to all kinds of perennial combinations for Summer 2023.
