India: Floriculture Department organizes training/awareness program on commercial floriculture

Director General, Floriculture, Parks & Gardens, Jammu, S. Jatinder Singh today participated in a training/awareness program on commercial floriculture for the public and entrepreneurs at Municipal Committee, Ramgarh District Samba. The program was organized under ongoing Jan Abhiyaan (MTMP 2.0) by Floriculture Department in collaboration with President Municipal Committee Ramgarh Sh. Paramjeet Singh.

Kamlesh Verma, Vice President of Municipal Committee Ramgarh, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In total, 40 people, including female farmers, attended the training/awareness program.

Speaking of the occasion, the Director General stressed adopting various commercial floriculture schemes in the towns, such as the development of ornamental nurseries, high-value flower crop production under poly greenhouses, etc. He also urged to increase the green cover of the area by developing Vertical Gardens, Terrace Gardens, and Home Lawns (Har Ghar Bagicha). The details of various Commercial Floriculture Schemes were also deliberated by AFO Atul Sharma.
