On Thursday, 13 April, orchid platform The Orchid Growers organized an afternoon for its clients, which was dedicated to their collaboration with fashion brand A fish named Fred.
Henk de Jong, commercial manager at The Orchid Growers, kicked off the event with a presentation on developments in the world and the company. Henk: "Data, digitalization, sustainability, artificial intelligence; developments are moving fast, and we want to be at the forefront of them." Then Rob Schalker, owner of A fish named Fred, took the audience through the philosophy of the contemporary clothing brand. The core of the story: do you choose blending or branding? Schalker chose the latter. With quirky prints, striking collaborations, and a clear wink, he sets his brand apart from the crowd.
The afternoon was completed with tasty snacks from NON and live music by music duo Jip & Daym.
The Orchid Growers recently teamed up with clothing brand A fish named Fred. Their summer collection this year is dedicated to Brazil. "That, of course, includes orchids," says Henk de Jong. "Together with Fred, we designed an exclusive orchid print, which was carried through on polos and caps. These now hang in their shops around the world."
