“It almost sounds too good to be true, but with the supplementation of hydrogen, we can boost the energy levels inside a plant.” Jochum from Mienis Water explains.
The HydrOxygen, which is the latest innovation from Mienis Water, will be infusing self-produced hydrogen and oxygen gas into the irrigation water. The benefits of oxygen nanobubbles are widely known, but the supplementation of hydrogen offers even more and better benefits.
Jochum: “Molecular hydrogen is essential in the ATP production inside cells. ATP or Adenosine triphosphate is the energy currency of all the processes which happen inside cells and plants. Research has shown that with the supplementation of hydrogen, ATP levels inside a cell can be improved by 50% or more. The plant can use all of this extra available energy for its growth, resilience and other processes.
Jochum: “Nowadays, growers try to control all factors to grow their plants in the most optimal way possible. The downside of this is that it does make the plant more vulnerable. Stress inside a plant is generally the result of an energy deficit. For example, if enough energy would be available, the plants would not be affected as much by environmental stressors. With the supplementation of hydrogen, we provide extra energy.”
The HydrOxygen will be launched on the Greentech and will also be available for display on the Mienis Water booth: 01.614. Jochum: “We want to invite everyone, growers and dealers, to see the HydrOxygen and to learn more about which benefits it can offer. The aim was to build a high-tech unit which can boost the quality of the irrigation water. With our Ultrafiltration we can disinfect and filter the water perfectly, but with the HydrOxygen we can also improve the water quality behind our Ultrafiltration which completes our concept.”
