Sadler’s Creekside Greenhouse in Souris has spent the past couple of years providing annual plants to the International Peace Garden (IPG) south of Boissevain.
The IPG has their own greenhouses to grow their own annuals, but for the past two years, they’ve had to source out their annual so they could use their greenhouses to store plans to the conservatory, which has been under construction the past couple of seasons. IPG CEO Tim Chapman says Sadlers provide a great product and have been nice to work with over the past two years.
It’s a similar feeling for Sadler’s Creekside Greenhouse owner Crystal Page. “This is our second year. We were asked by the crew down there, and I was shocked. I knew they had a project on the go, but I never thought they’d ask us. It has been an absolute honor to grow for them and help them out as they work to get their new conservatory built and up and running.”
Page said the increased production meant another 30 to 40 percent production at their greenhouse. “We put up another greenhouse, and we had planned on doing that anyways just to have more space for ourselves. It has been a little tight for space since we took on the project for them, but it’s worked out pretty well.”
