Henk Boers, born in Naaldwijk (73), has been active in horticulture all his life, mainly abroad in recent years. In a book to be published this month, he talks about his existence as a 'horticultural globetrotter.' The book will be published by Retrovision publishers.
In the book, Boers looks back on his youth on the Opstalweg in Naaldwijk, his first years as a self-employed horticulturist, his switch to working for an employer and eventually to being self-employed for several employers in horticulture at home and abroad. Especially his adventures across borders are described in detail. Boers was active in China, the United Arab Emirates, Uganda, Siberia, Turkey, and many other countries.
Henk Boers: Westland Horticultural Globetrotter. After 55 years of working in greenhouses, Henk looks back at the autumn of his life and his career that taught him everything about working in difficult conditions, adapting to other cultures, and the freedom and opportunities an adventurous life can bring.
