On August 3, the first day of the III phytosanitary meeting of the flower sector was successfully held. This space emphasizing phytosanitary issues has shown high interest and participation since its previous editions.
Thinking about the need and importance of these issues in production systems, this last day was held virtually, and 500 people nationwide participated in conferences and discussions where experts responded live to many different questions.
This event, which addressed crucial aspects related to plant health for the floriculture sector, had the participation of Luz Stella Fuentes, Director of Scientia Colombia, who, through her conference, shared her knowledge on biological control, offering innovative perspectives for pest management from sustainability and respect for the environment.
Likewise, Rodrigo Gil, associate professor at the National University of Colombia, focused his presentation on the importance of plant nutrition for integrated pest management, highlighting that adequate nutrition is an essential part of a holistic approach to crop protection.
The massive participation in this event and the outstanding live attendance demonstrate the commitment of the flower industry in the search for efficient and responsible solutions to phytosanitary challenges. These spaces for knowledge and dialogue are essential to strengthen the industry, promote sustainable practices and guarantee the quality of products in a changing environment.
