The UK is the third largest export market for Belgian ornamental horticulture products, accounting for an annual export value of more than €50 million. For the UK, Belgium is the second most important supplier within the EU.
No wonder, then, that the sector was well represented at Four Oaks, which held its 51st edition last week. Eleven Flemish floriculture companies found a home in the VLAM group stand: ADM Greentraders, Boomkwekerij Rahoens, Boomkwekerij Schepers, Decock Plants, Denis-Plants, Geka-Plants, Microflor, Plant-Select, Sylva, Vandamme Sierplanten and Willy De Nolf. Together, they represented a wide range of Flemish ornamental plant products, ranging from rhododendrons, flowering houseplants, bedding, and balcony plants to young plants, shrubs, and nursery products. With the slogan "For freshness, look no further than Flanders," they brought their products to the attention of the English public.
