Fragrant Northwest China's fresh roses global markets

In the town of Fuhang, Linxia-Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, Northwest China, workers are busy packaging freshly cut roses in the packaging workshop of the "Baiyinun International Flower Port" project. This project, featuring three fully automated intelligent greenhouses spanning 200,000 square meters, has revolutionized rose cultivation in the region.

Situated at an elevation of 2,000 meters, the Linxia-Hui Autonomous Prefecture has become renowned for producing high-quality roses due to abundant sunlight and a dry climate. With over 500 industrial workers, the project, operational since October 2022, has planted approximately 1.5 million rose seedlings. Thanks to advanced agricultural technologies, including automated temperature control and water-fertilizer integration, the project yields an average of 200,000 freshly cut roses daily, with a monthly production value reaching nearly 15 million yuan.

Known as the "rose gigafactory," this advanced facility has attracted international flower traders. Deputy General Manager of the "Baiyinun International Flower Port" project, Li Zetian, mentioned that over 10,000 roses were shipped to Kazakhstan in August. Recently, a refrigerated truck carrying 200,000 fresh roses from Linxia reached Moscow, marking the first ground transportation of roses from Linxia to Russian cities. This collaboration, facilitated by the Belt and Road Initiative, has created favorable conditions for cross-border trade, as highlighted by Rinad Ageev of "YUFLOLA," who hopes for long-term cooperation with the project.
