Together for Pink Ribbon
After successful previous years, OZ-Hami and Pink Ribbon joined forces again this year during the international breast cancer awareness month of October to support the fight against breast cancer. Together with several growers, a special selection of flowers was put together from October 2 to 6, with money donated to Pink Ribbon for every item sold. The aim was to raise as much money as possible for Pink Ribbon and create awareness for breast cancer research.
Together with the participating growers ANSU, Anthogether, Berg Roses, Colours of Nature, Lugt Lisianthus, Marginpar, Multi Color Flowers, Nini Roses, Qualily, Together2Grow, VD Laan Tulips, Roach Spray Roses, and Zentoo, a wonderful amount of €7,500 was raised, thanks in part to contributions from Coloriginz and Dutch Flower Foundation. "A wonderful initiative and great example of successful cooperation between exporter, grower, and our customers to support the fight against breast cancer," according to Reinier Haasnoot, Manager of Marketing & New Business at OZ-Hami.
Side by side against breast cancer
As many as 1 in 7 women in the Netherlands will get breast cancer. Every year, about 3,000 people (99.2% of them are women) still die from breast cancer in the Netherlands. That's about 9 every day. Pink Ribbon raises money for projects and research to prevent breast cancer and to treat it better. In addition, Pink Ribbon does everything possible to make life after breast cancer as pleasant as possible.
