India: Floriculturists in trouble as prices of flowers crash

Dharwad: The floriculturists in Dharwad district are in trouble as the prices of flowers have crashed. The inflow of flowers in the market is high, but there are not many takers.

The standing crop is withering, pushing the farmers into distress.
While chrysanthemum (sevantige) is being sold at Rs 15-20 per kg, marigold is sold at Rs 10 per kg, and a bundle of rose for Rs 60.
