US (CA): Straight No Chaser brings a cappella entertainment to the 2024 Rose Parade

Fresh off their three-month long “Sleighin’ It Tour,” Straight No Chaser, the RIAA-Certified Gold a cappella group, will head from their final tour date straight to Pasadena to perform on the Enjoy Illinois float in the 2024 Rose Parade presented by Honda! The trailblazing group, who ushered a cappella music to the mainstream through their reinterpretations of decades-spanning popular music, promise to capture the hearts of millions of spectators of all ages along the parade route and around the globe.

Known for their genre-spanning, captivating performances, Straight No Chaser will join the Illinois Office of Tourism in showcasing the state’s rich musical heritage, featuring a diverse array of musical styles that reflect the cultural tapestry of the state. From blues and jazz to country and rock, Illinois set the stage for musical innovation, and the Enjoy Illinois float aims to highlight the state’s contribution to the world of music.

Back to the Parade for the second time, Enjoy Illinois is ready to dazzle the world with its vibrant floral display, and this year’s float theme, “Illinois: The Middle of Beats & Blues,” promises to turn the parade route into a musical extravaganza. The performance is a tribute to U.S. Route 66, which connects Chicago to Santa Monica, including the dazzling stretch along the Rose Parade route on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.

“The Tournament of Roses is thrilled to see the Straight No Chaser’s performance on the Enjoy Illinois float during the 2024 Rose Parade, marking the second consecutive year of Enjoy Illinois’ participation,” said 2024 Tournament of Roses President Alex Aghajanian. “Straight No Chaser’s a cappella brilliance will grace the float, harmonizing with the theme “Celebrating a World of Music,” showcasing Illinois’ rich musical heritage while adding an unforgettable touch to this year’s festivities, creating a musical experience that brings us all together to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Illinois.”

“We are excited to return to the Rose Parade and partner with Straight No Chaser who will perform a medley of songs from the iconic ‘Blues Brothers’ movie on the Enjoy Illinois float,” said Daniel Thomas, Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, Office of Tourism. “We hope to inspire everyone watching the parade on New Year’s Day to discover the incredible music, history and cultural experiences you can only find in Illinois.”

“We are so proud and beyond excited to be performing on the Enjoy Illinois float in the 2024 Rose Parade,” said Straight No Chaser member Randy Stine, who was born and raised in Illinois. “Like so many people around the country, we grew up watching the parade every New Year’s Day. What a dream come true it is to be a part of such an iconic event.”
