Glastuinbouw Nederland's perspective on the expansion of ABC Westland:

"Don't waste good greenhouse horticulture area"

The expansion of the ABC Westland business park has sparked a lot of controversy. Construction has already begun, and greenhouses have been demolished, but local residents and Glastuinbouw Nederland are not happy. The advocacy group is dismayed to see a greenhouse area with "good future prospects" being replaced with businesses. They agree that these businesses, even those within the greenhouse cluster, should be able to grow. However, they state the following in a letter to the Westland College of B&W:

"It does not at all testify to good spatial planning to squander a greenhouse area with such promising and sustainable future prospects for the sake of an agro-logistics business park in an unfavorable and illogical location." You can read the full letter here, brought to the spotlight by the protest collective 'Zeg nee tegen ABC' ('Say No to ABC').
