Van Krimpen has been in operation for over 40 years. Each day, a diverse range of trays, pots, and containers in various shapes, sizes, and colors are produced and delivered to horticultural businesses both domestically and internationally. Frans-Jan van den Berge, co-owner of Van Krimpen, is proud of the many innovations within the company.

Everything in-house
"What many people do not realize is that we are not only a trading company, but that we also market 80% of our own products. We are constantly developing and manufacturing new products and experimenting with new materials. For example, we have spent a lot of time developing our recycled and recyclable multi-use R-tray range, as well as pots made from natural materials, such as sunflower residues."
Frans-Jan continues: "In addition, we are fully engaged in other internal developments as a company. One current topic is the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which we are actively working on. We also recently opened a new, fully automated warehouse." At Van Krimpen, everything is done in-house: from purchasing and recycling plastics to melting and injection molding them.
Customization
"When a grower exports, there are various challenges to navigate," says Ivana Jongbloed, Export Manager at Van Krimpen. "With extensive knowledge and passion, we actively collaborate with exporting growers, not only in terms of products but also in optimizing pallet packing and container loading. We don't offer a 'one-size-fits-all' approach; instead, we provide customized solutions tailored to our customers' needs. This personalized service helps me build strong, lasting relationships with my clients."
Ivana continues, "We are a large and professional company, yet the atmosphere remains personal and welcoming. Colleagues collaborate effectively and support one another whenever needed. While we maintain a businesslike approach, we also foster a strong sense of teamwork and mutual support."

Thinking along
Frans-Jan emphasizes that this 'thinking along' is also reflected in the cooperation with growers: "We translate the grower's idea into a product and thus add value. For example, we look at how our products can speed up the work at a nursery or how to make better use of the available space. When designing products, we also consider the protection of the plant material. Thinking along about further automation in a nursery and how we can play a role in it is very important to us."
The end of 2024 is approaching, and for Van Krimpen it was a year with both challenges and positive developments. "Van Krimpen is growing," Frans-Jan concludes. "Through this way, we would like to wish everyone very happy holidays and a good start to the new year!"
Van Krimpen will also be present at the IPM taking place from 28-31 January 2025 in Essen, Germany. They can be found at stand number 6C39.
