The spring edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt in Hazerswoude/Boskoop, the Netherlands, kicked off this morning at 7am. With around 175 exhibitors and 5,000 sample lots from 500 growers, the event is the ultimate destination today and tomorrow for garden centers, retailers, and wholesalers from all over Europe and beyond. Visitors travel from all corners of the continent to explore the offerings for the upcoming season and make direct purchases.
National and international growers present their new products for the spring season. While there are fewer concept growers this year, this edition of the fair is larger than previous ones and provides a complete representation of the industry. Exporters walk the floor together with their customers, reserving orders on the spot, which are then delivered in one shipment. Some customers purchase dozens of truckloads and take several days to curate the best selection.
Garden centers and wholesalers make the most of the trade fair to finalize their assortments for the upcoming season. Together with suppliers, they assess what this season has to offer.
