The Netherlands which had been the main supplier to Kyrgyzstan since 2022, no longer holds the leading position in the market. It has been replaced by Colombia, which imported 65.8 tonnes to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2024 against 22.8 tonnes from the Netherlands.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 176.1 tonnes of cut flowers and buds worth $1.2 million in 2024, which is significantly higher than in 2023 (83.7 tonnes worth $651.4 thousand).
Ecuador ranked second with 36.9 tonnes in 2024, followed by China, which increased shipments from 2 tonnes in 2023 to 27.1 tonnes in 2024. The Netherlands, on the other hand, ranked fourth and Kenya closed the list of top 5 largest suppliers.
Flowers from Kazakhstan, Israel and Turkey began to be bought less.
At the same time, the most expensive were flowers from Poland, where an average tonne of flowers cost $28 thousand, from South Africa ($14.5 thousand) and Colombia ($7.4 thousand).
