Dutch Greenhouse Delta latest member of AIPH

At the AIPH Spring Meeting 2025 in Chiang Rai, Thailand, members officially welcomed Dutch Greenhouse Delta (DGD) as a new Affiliate Member. This signals closer global collaboration for professional growers with one of the Netherlands' most dynamic and coordinated efforts to promote high-tech horticulture internationally.

"We are very pleased to welcome Dutch Greenhouse Delta as an Affiliate Member of AIPH," said AIPH Secretary General Tim Briercliffe. "Their collaborative approach to sustainable horticultural development and commitment to knowledge sharing reflect the values we promote across our global network. Their strong connections within the Dutch horticultural ecosystem and a clear international outlook will make them a valuable contributor to the AIPH community."

Dutch Greenhouse Delta unites some of the Netherlands' most innovative horticultural companies, forming a united front to share technology, expertise, and systems thinking with growers worldwide. With sustainability and food security as priorities, DGD is dedicated to helping regions develop resilient, locally adapted horticultural ecosystems.

Mirjam Boekestijn, CEO of Dutch Greenhouse Delta.

"We want to make an impact on global food safety and food security and contribute to the well-being and lifestyle of today's and future generations by greening the living environment," says Mirjam Boekestijn, CEO of Dutch Greenhouse Delta. "Our strength lies in creating international partnerships that go beyond individual projects—we work with the whole value chain to build lasting, locally relevant solutions."

For decades, Dutch horticulture has been a benchmark for innovation. DGD offers knowledge sharing and a holistic approach that connects the dots between infrastructure, cultivation, research, and advanced technology. Whether it's automation, renewable energy, precision climate control, or water reuse, their integrated systems are designed to be adaptable and efficient—even in challenging climates.

Growers across the globe benefit from the intensive collaboration DGD fosters with organizations like AVAG and its innovation platform, Hortivation. Through this, new developments in resource-efficient cultivation, data-driven crop management, and high-tech greenhouse design are being made accessible to international partners.

This year, DGD is expanding its focus regions with new initiatives in North Africa and the launch of a podcast series that explores solutions to regional challenges such as water scarcity. The first episodes focus on the Gulf region, where Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) is already proving transformative.

"The challenges professional growers face—whether it's climate change, water limitations, or labor efficiency—are remarkably similar across regions," says Boekestijn. "By exchanging knowledge and adapting technology to local needs, we can work together on scalable, impactful solutions."

With a growing international presence, Dutch Greenhouse Delta will actively participate in upcoming exhibitions, including the AIPH-approved International Horticultural Trade Show GreenTech Amsterdam and Expo 2025 Osaka. These platforms offer opportunities to strengthen international partnerships, showcase sustainable innovation, and connect with growers seeking to future-proof their operations and contribute to a more resilient global food and flower supply.

"We are thrilled to join the AIPH network and engage with the global grower community," Boekestijn adds. "Together, we can accelerate the transition toward smarter, more sustainable production systems."
