Terra Nova Nurseries has revealed its latest best-of-breeding breakthrough, Liatris 'White Feather'. This new type of liatris from Terra Nova exhibits the best habit of any liatris the company has previously bred.
"Liatris 'White Feather' is distinguished by its robust, upright growth habit and abundance of dense, pure-white blooms that appear in the first year. Its striking flowers are a powerful draw for pollinators, often attracting butterflies and bees at the same time. 'White Feather' adds landscape value and visual appeal to mixed beds, borders or rock gardens; its dense flowers and foliage also add texture and late-summer interest to containers. This new perennial, native to the United States, thrives in full sun and reaches a height of 10", width of 12" and flower height of 18"."
"USDA Hardiness Zones for 'White Feather' are 3-9. Finishing growers should allow this variety to dry slightly between waterings in the greenhouse. The finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot is four to six weeks; finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is eight to 10 weeks. Terra Nova's 'White Feather' grows most actively in spring and blooms from August through October."
