Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has opened a new contract logistics center in Truganina, Australia, effectively doubling its warehouse capacity in the Melbourne metropolitan area. The facility is intended to support the company's operations in the Asia-Pacific region and meet growing demand from both existing and prospective clients.
Hellmann has maintained a presence in Australia since 1987, with operations expanding to New Zealand the following year. The company now operates from seven locations across the two countries, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Auckland, and Christchurch. The new facility aims to provide logistics services across various sectors, including automotive, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, and consumer goods.
The new site spans approximately 19,000 square meters and offers 18,000 pallet spaces, equipped with warehouse and inventory management systems. In addition to expanding operational capacity, the facility incorporates features targeting environmental efficiency, such as a 200 kW solar system, rainwater tanks with a total capacity of 30,000 liters, and ten electric vehicle charging stations. The site is also targeting a 5-star Green Star As-Built certification.
According to the company, the facility's location and infrastructure are intended to provide scalable and flexible logistics solutions aligned with shifting client needs and regulatory expectations. The center forms part of Hellmann's broader efforts to update its logistics infrastructure within the region.
