German company Bremkens Orchids will focus exclusively on the propagation of orchid plugs. The company sold their genetics to the German lab Hark Orchideen. This is confirmed by Christian Bremkens, in response to a message published on Dutch news site HortiPoint. Dutch company Sion Young Plants will take over the sales of the assortment of Hark and Bremkens, which they will market worldwide.
From now on, independently of any assortment, Bremkens will fully focus on the propagation of orchid plugs, explains Christian. "It will improve the plant quality", he says. "We changed direction and it opens new doors which brings new possibilities and opportunities. We have a lot of ideas and several are already in the pipeline. Next month, we can tell more about it", he says.
Over the last years, Bremkens invested a lot in their propagation processes. In 2017, they installed a new sorting line which enabled them to supply their growers with a tray with more uniform phalaenopsis young plants (click here to read more about this new sorting line at Bremkens) and a new cultivation system to increase the production volume.
