Agrifirm acquires Dutch supplier to the flower bulb sector GMN

Two suppliers in the Dutch flower bulb sector will be working together: GMN and Royal Agrifirm Group. Following an integration process, Agrifirm will acquire the GMN family business and the new organisation will be operational effective from 1 January 2020.

Dick Hordijk, CEO Royal Agrifirm Group, is looking forward to collaborating with GMN, a strong regional company operating close to the customer: “I am proud of the iconic flower bulb sector in the Netherlands. I strongly believe in this sector, with its excellent entrepreneurship, but that also has its challenges.”

The goal is to make an important contribution to innovation in the bulb sector and to reduce its environmental impact.

GMN Director Gerard Top: “GMN is convinced that through this partnership and investments we can take steps in the interest of our joint customers. With like-mindedness, we can serve this colourful sector even better with our collective approach.”

Ronald van de Ven, Director Agrifirm NWE, emphasises: “This partnership will result in a strong market-oriented party with sufficient strength to make a difference. Combining forces makes for an efficient organisation in which customer interests and the sector’s challenges are a high priority.”

For the time being, the current mode of operation, locations and contacts will remain unchanged. GMN Director Gerard Top will head up the new organisation.
