Tree-planting initiative aims to support small farmers worldwide:

IPM Essen donates over 1,000 trees to its exhibitors for anniversary

On the first day of the 40th edition of the trade fair IPM Essen, IPM Essen issued vouchers for tree planting to its exhibitors. The codes can be redeemed online on the Treedom web platform. This platform collaborates with small farmers in Africa, the Americas, and South Asia who plant trees in their local environment with the intention of contributing to a sustainable ecosystem and a higher income. Treedom uses the proceeds to fund the training of participating agricultural cooperatives.

Those who have planted a tree can follow their tree, the project, and the IPM community in the shared IPM forest. After a few weeks, each tree receives an updated photo and GPS data. According to Andrea Hölker, project manager of IPM Essen, the tree planting initiative aligns perfectly with the fair: "At the same time, we make the planet a little greener and support local agriculture."

Climate trees are a focus at the 40th IPM Essen
At the 40th IPM Essen, exhibitors from 43 nations showcased their innovations in the exhibition areas of plants, technology, floristry, and garden features. Especially in light of upcoming climate goals, climate trees and insect-friendly perennials were the focus of guided tours. In addition, visitors of IPM Essen could attend the seminar "Big Trees for the City," offered by the German Association of Tree Nurseries.
