France: Salon du Végétal opens its doors

Today, Salon du Végétal has opened its doors. For the second time, this show takes place in la Beaujoire in Nantes, France. This three-day event usually brings together nearly 600 exhibitors and brands and 10,000 visitors from France and abroad.

And the event is becoming increasingly more international. In 2017, foreign visitors came from 34 different countries and 25% of the exhibitors came from abroad (Germany, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland).

According to the organization, holding the fair in Nantes instead of Angers (where they used to hold it) enhances its international dimension. "Nantes, with its estuary and port, has a long history of trading and is now a metropolis open to the world, thanks in particular to an airport serving 75 destinations."

During the three days, several events are organized and one of the events that has been held on Monday June 18 is the announcement of the winners of the novelties competition Innovert. In the category new plant - horticulture, Syngenta Floripro Services won the first prize with the Begonia x Tophat White and Clematis The Source of Good Climbers won the golden award in the category new plant -nursery for Schizophragma hydrangeoides Burst of light.
