India: Twelve high-tech nurseries to come up in Kolhapur within three years

The social forestry department will establish 12 high-tech nurseries at each of the talukas in the Kolhapur district at a total cost of Rs 4.2 crore.

The plan is to develop the nurseries in the next three years starting from October this year. At present, the department is consulting other government offices like the district collectorate and tehsil offices for land to set up the nurseries.

This is the first of its kind experiment in Maharashtra, where vegetation is developed in the poly house and shed net. The Rajasthan government has developed such high-tech nurseries in the last decade.
