What to expect at IPM Essen 2016?

The 34th edition of the IPM Essen will take place in only two weeks, from January 26-29 2016 in Essen, Germany. For many companies this exhibition is the perfect occasion to showcase their latest innovations in varieties, equipment and technologies and to launch new ones.



What to expect this year?
Also this year, many novelties and innovations can be expected. Below, we listed some introductions that are on display at the IPM.
  • LED fixtures
Hortilux laid the foundations for the application of HPS technology in greenhouse horticulture. In greenhouse horticulture the interest in LED lighting is rapidly growing. The company has been researching the possibilities of and the yield resulting from LEDs for years. Hortilux is developed LED fixtures that will be introduced in January and February 2016 at the IPM, the Fruit Logistica and the Tuinbouw Relatie Dagen. At the IPM Hortilux can be found in hall 3.0 booth 3D69.

  • Switching from flowers to plants
Floor van Schaik will present their FlowerRack at IPM Essen 2016. “The FlowerRack allows a novel way of displaying flowers, plants and potted greens. The rack has a way of disappearing behind the products on display, making sure all the attention goes to the flowers and the plants. So far, customers have been enthusiastic.” At the IPM, Floor Van Schaik can be found in hall 5.0 booth 5B43.

  • Herbicide Dosage
Mantis ULV will be showcasing their new Mankar Flexomant models for exact, path-dependent herbicide dosage via a wheel-driven pump. Just like other Mankar ULV models, the new Flexomants are equipped with the innovative flexible spray hoods for ultimate crop protection. The patented segment rotation atomiser, in combination with the wheel-driven pump, ensures the exact application of minimal herbicide on the area to be treated, ensuring significant savings in the quantity of herbicides used. Meet them at Hall 3.0, Booth 3D76

  • Biodegradable flower Bucket
Koen Pack will show a new biodegradable flower bucket at the IPM Essen 2016. The biodegradable flower bucket is sturdy, waterproof, printable and degradable. The flower bucket is made of solid cardboard with a degradable coating. The height possibles are of course different. Check it out at Hall 1.0, Booth 1D12.12.

  • New Agapanthus variety
Fairweather’s is looking forward to a third year exhibiting at IPM Essen. This year Fairweather’s will be adding Agapanthus ‘Flower of Love’ to their extensive Agapanthus range. It's a great new dark blue deciduous Agapanthus which sits nicely alongside Agapanthus Twister launched last year. Fairweathers can be found in Hall 10 booth 10C13

  • New mini rose variety
Roses Forever expands its mini rose series again with a new gold colored Infinity. Jinfinity is the name of this new golden colored mini rose with very dark, almost black leaves. "Jin means gold in Chinese and China is a market Roses Forever recently has signed license agreements with," says Rosa Eskelund, of Roses Forever ApS and breeder of the Jinfinity. During the IPM Essen Roses Forever will showcase this variety along with other new and existing roses in hall 5.0, booth 5A24.

  • New anthurium and phaleanopsis varieties
At the IPM, Anthura will highlight a selection of novelties. These noveltiese are the first choice of their product managers, regarding to 'THE variety of the future'. The anthurium novelties of Anthura are Vanilla, Solara and Sweet Dream. The phalaenopsis novelties are Anthura Leeds, Anthura Ferrara and Anthura Davos. Also the anthurium cut flower Maravilla is expected to be a promising variety for the future.

New national exhibition booths
The trade fair will be held from January 26-29 2016, in the Messe Essen in Essen Germany. There is no doubt that the IPM Essen has become the most important event for European horticulture and is a very international oriented. More than 1,600 exhibitors from around 50 nations will be exhibiting at the show. A total of 20 countries have organised one or even several community booths at the IPM ESSEN – in all areas. Guatemala is a new participant exhibiting cut flowers, potted plants and perennials. China, France, the United Kingdom, India and Taiwan have expanded their booths. And there are additional national booths from Belgium, Costa Rica, Denmark, the Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Turkey, Hungary and the United States.
