According to Levi, everywhere you look on the market, you see the colors red, green and white and not to forget, the pots and trays that are covered with tons of glitters. But next to the traditional Christmas items, like cyclamen, poinsettias, greens, roses and tulips, more is offered on the market.
The cacti and ruby succulent varieties, for example seem to be very popular Christmas items this year. "It has been a trend throughout the year and we now see it continue for Christmas", says Levi.
Besides that, there are some 'outdoor' plants are being brought inside for Christmas. "Many hellebore, Christmas roses, brassicas and skimmias are sold as indoor plants on the market."
Also some early narcissi varieties are already on the market. "They seem to be a little earlier and there seem to be a bit more on offer compared to last year."
According to Levi, the surprising 'showstoppers' of this year are the Jasmine plant and the 15 year old cacti.
