'Custom-made growth lights improve flowering season'

When designing the fixtures for the two hectares of greenhouses of Florein Gerberas, Lionz Light did not only take the lighting requirements for gerberas or the personal wishes of the customer into account, but also the dimensions and layout of the greenhouse. The reflector ensures a good light output, which according to independent surveys, is the highest in the market. Maximum output and optimum distribution ensure that with these fixtures savings can be made on the cost per mmol / m2.

The past year Zuidgeest had a good season, which he partly attributes to the new way of lighting. "More light results in more production, of course. The light distribution and the total light output is optimized by the new fixtures. The light is distributed as much as possible and also penetrates deeply into the crop.”

Zuidgeest has now embarked on the second season. "So far we did not have a single problem with the light fixtures. Of course, the future will show whether it really was a good investment, but so far it looks pretty good and I'm not afraid that this will change all of a sudden. The lifespan is about ten years, so we can just move forward."

 

A year ago the lamps of Lionz Light were brand new on the market, but Zuidgeest had confidence in the new developments. "Lionz Light uses Philips material, that has a good reputation and good warranty. In addition, fixtures were custom made and not more expensive than those of any other supplier."
