Strong colours on display at Floricultura Pacific

Also Floricultura Pacific was home to the California Spring Trials this year. At their location in Salinas they hosted five companies; Beekenkamp, Westhoff, Gediflora, Westhoff, Flamingo Holland and Plug Connection. In this article, we will present the highlights of each of these participating companies.

Westhoff

Chris Berg of Westhoff presenting the RiseUp Begonia. The flowers are above the pland and these begonias do not have to be pinched. As the flowers are not so heavy, they do not break off during transport. The RiseUp is not only a new collection, but is the first begonia collection ever for Westhoff.

Left picture: Shine Bright begonia's are new boiviensis hybrids with a profusion of flowers covering the plants. Right picture: Hells petunia Famin Rose is new in the Hells series of Westhoff. According to Berg, the petunias in this series are the brightest available.

Flamingo Holland

Kathy McKay of Flamingo Holland holding the new calla: Royal Dutchness, with flowers turning from yellow to pink. Next to the callas, orchids were
also on display. Recently, Flamingo Holland and Floricultura Pacific announced that they will work together to develop the orchid market in North America.

Plug Connection

Clockwise:

Mighty Mato is a Plug Connection exclusive, a grafted vegetable with a SuperNatural rootstock. Super Dwarfs are patio tomato plants having a mature height of 30-36 inch. The Super Dwarfs series collection consists eight varieties.

More novelties of the California Spring Trials participants will follow soon.
