Por La Mar Nursery: first potted plant grower to earn Certified American Grown branding
Por La Mar Nursery, a family owned potted flower farm since the early 1970’s, has become the first to join the Certified American Grown program for the potted plant category. The passion for and commitment to potted flowering plants over the past 40 years is what drove the family and dedicated team to have this distinct brand behind them.
Por La Mar Nursery is well known within the industry for its quality products; most popular are the miniature rose, hydrangea and gardenia. Varieites are bred in Santa Barbara, California making them unique and one of a kind and American grown. Por La Mar Nursery plants are found across the U.S. and Canada as far as Alaska and Hawaii, in major supermarkets, retail nurseries, home and garden centers and e-commerce as well as local farmers’ markets.
“We are proud of our “American Grown” roots and excited to become the first potted nursery to have this certification”, said one of the family members, owner and president, Brian Caird.
Por La Mar Nursery is the parent company of Glad-A-Way Gardens in Santa Maria, CA. Glad-A- Way Gardens is one of the largest cut Gladioli growers in the United States and also Certified American Grown.
