NL: Many beautiful projects in the pipeline for Technokas

The year 2018 promises to be a busy, but also exciting and alternating year for Technokas. In the first six months, a few large, innovative projects will be completed and a start will be made with the new construction of some stunning companies. All facilities for Next Generation Growing will also be installed at various existing customers.

1. In the coming months we are busy with the completion of the very innovative Daylight greenhouse at Ter Laak Orchids in Wateringen. With 5 hectares of Daylight greenhouse – of which almost 1 hectare is equipped with a double cultivation layer - Ter Laak can make major strides in the very energy-conscious and sustainable cultivation of Phalaenopsis.

2. At Montana, a Lysianthus breeder, we will put the finishing touches to the facilities of the business premises in the coming weeks. In the course of the first quarter, we will install, as icing on the cake, an architectural facade with perforated aluminum coated panels. We also will include the heat storage tank in this design.

3. The final phase is also relevant during the first quarter at breeder Schoneveld Breeding in Twello. There we will deliver a state-of-the-art horticulture complex consisting of a breeding greenhouse, an industrial premises greenhouse including a modern heating installation.

4. At Marc van der Drift Rozen the new rose plants are currently being planted. This is done in a 4-hectare greenhouse that is raised by 150 cm and equipped with a new cooling installation. In collaboration with Van der Drift, we have designed a completely new installation with air treatment units at the end walls and insulated channels under the cultivation beds so that the grower can ventilate, cool and heat according to the principles of 'Next Generation Growing'. The total installed power is 6 MW.

5. In January we start with the construction of a new 2-hectare wide-span greenhouse with a 12.80-meter roof width, suitable for a roof roll screen and a flat screen installation. This new building is intended for an extension at Bunnik Vriesea's in De Kwakel, a specialist in the cultivation of Bromeliads and ornamental pineapple. We will also renovate the facades of the existing greenhouses, replacing the glass and acrylic sheets with sandwich panels.

6. Also in the first quarter the completion of an efficient energy center at the Opti-flor company in Monster on the Orberlaan will take place. The energy center houses, among other things, the heat exchanger of the geothermal heat source at the Vogelaer, the manifolds for the location at the Orberlaan and connections to the new hot and cold storage tank.

7. In the course of the first quarter, we will start building a new location for Opti-flor next to the current location in Monster at the Orberlaan. This concerns a greenhouse of 2.5 hectares with different cultivation departments, in which certain parts will be equipped with double glazing in the 30-degree departments, single glazing in the 18-degree departments, and with acrylic sheets in the cultivation processing and above the 'shop'. In addition to the design and construction, we also take care of the supervision of the construction. Subsequently we will also realize a new business premises and processing space here.

8. In the second quarter, we will start working at SV.CO to build a 4-hectare pot plant greenhouse at a new location. This location is linked to the adjacent establishment. We will also realize an efficiently designed industrial building here. For SV.CO we take care of the design, construction and supervision.

9. The Next Generation Growing is currently one of the most effective ways of optimizing cultivation processes and reducing energy consumption as much as possible. For that reason, more and more growers are switching to this technology and we have agreements to install the in-house developed NGG systems at several growers. In the coming months we will be installing the NGG at OK Plant in Naaldwijk (Phalaenopsis) and Ter Laak Orchids (Phalaenopsis). In the course of the year, this technique will be installed at a number of other projects.
