April 7, Fallbrook

US (CA): Farmer Mel ready to welcome F2V guests

Flower farmer Mel Resendiz will be waiting for guests who will attend the American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour at Resendiz Brothers Protea in Fallbrook, California, on April 7.

He’s eager to share his farm’s history and answer your questions when you join him for dinner on April 7. As part of the event, you will enjoy a reception and short tour of the farm. This is your opportunity to walk the grounds of an American flower farm and learn the secrets of growing protea from the man himself.

Mel formerly partnered with California's most experienced protea growers, Howard Asper Sr. and Dr. Peter Sacks, until he set off on his own in 1999 to pour his passion into producing exotic plants from the soil in the north San Diego area.

A proud immigrant to the United States, Mel loves to show off his protea, pincushions, banksia, kangaroo paws and leucadendron. Many of his varieties are hybrids grown only by the Resendiz family.
