NL: Dutch nursery WBD adds new products to ‘Liv in Wax’ concept

A bulb in wax, we are already familiar with it, but a bulb with roots in the wax is unique. Dutch nursery WBD has developed and patented a technique to do just that, and recently even added a green houseplant, the zamioculcas, to the ‘Liv in Wax’ concept.

Sales are particularly good, according to Fred Breekhuizen from SurePlants. "Two years ago we started with it, initially only with hyacinths and daffodils, and now with amaryllis and zamioculcas. An exclusive product which knows how to find its way in various segments now."

It's an easy plant and you do not have to provide water: a solution for the more modern individual, Mark Warmerdam of WBD remarks. As is apparent from the video below, even he himself was somewhat surprised about the interest: "I was still wondering where I should place it - it is not a pot nor a vase - but the consumer has no problem with that at all." Certainly now towards Easter the daffodil Liv in Wax is an appealing article for the consumer.

After the great success with the introduction of the zamio at the last autumn fair, also this time a new product in the Liv in Wax will be presented at the FloraHolland Trade Fair.
