International FloraExpo

"India: "Exhibitors impressed by booming business"

The 13th edition of the International FloraExpo 2018 concluded in India's floriculture hub - Pune - on 25th of February at the Hindustan Antibiotic Exhibition Ground. Flowers of various hues and shapes provided a feast to the eyes of one and all.



Inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Jackie Shroff, famous Bollywood actor and plant lover, the 13th International FloraExpo 2018 received the right boost. The actor mentioned that the 13th edition is very nice, it's beautiful. He said, "There is a living plant in my hand, nothing bigger than that can happen to me. The spirit in which the organizers made it and presented to me, it is a great gift... greenery of the garden in the morning. It is overwhelming." Praising the event's contribution he quoted, "ped katne kuch log aaye the mere gaon mein, dhoop bahut hai kehkar beith gaye usi ped ke chawon mein... Handle the green, handle it yourself, do business, but do not sell your faith in its affair." While Jackie was presented the Green Lover Award by MB Naqvi, CEO, Media Group, to signify his love for greener environment.



Abhigyan Prakash, Sr. Executive Editor of NDTV India and renowned columnist expressed his magnanimous appreciation for the vertical gardening concept, the pot arrangements, the various kinds of flowers and flower arrangements as also the various innovative concepts developed by the floriculture industry. He was expressed that the exhibition was absolutely surprising and stated that a lot of research and development work is going into the floriculture area. This is an area which offers greater employment particularly to womenfolk. 



The 13th edition of International FloraExpo was supported by Indian Nurserymen Association, Indian Society of Floriculture Professionals (ISFP), Maharashtra Nurserymen's Association and Indian Flowers & Ornamental Plants Welfare Association (iFlora).



The three-day Expo's co-located shows included 10th International Horti Expo, 12th International Landscape & Gardening Expo and 4th Agrex India. The event made substantial contribution to the floriculture Industry. It was extremely successful and received words of praise from everyone. The series of events have become India's most prominent exhibition on floriculture, garden equipment & machinery, landscaping and allied sectors.



Participation
Over 150 exhibitors from around the country participated in the Expo. The nursery sector with their wide range of plants and colourful flowers welcomed the visitors. The exhibitors at the 13th Int'l FloraExpo were Rise n' Shine Biotech Pvt. Ltd., KF Bioplants Pvt. Ltd., Soex Flora, Florance Flora, Tukai Exotics, Kimya Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Precision Agritech Pvt. Ltd., Tropica Nursery, ELT India, Harshdeep Agro Products, Sanjay Nursery, Krishnendra Nursery, Gromor Food Nursery, Balaji Blossoms and A-One Biotech flaunted their varieties of flowers and plants through captivating displays.



Green Vision Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. presented the two important components -- fertilizers and seeds that are essential for ensuring the quality of flowers. JJ Overseas, Greentech India, AA Politiv Ltd., showcased the latest trends and developments of the floriculture and horticulture sector. Concepts in landscaping and vertical gardening were brought up by ELT India, JKD Hortitech, Ratnashri Landscapers, Baijnath Landscape and a lot more.



Jain Irrigation, Ha-ko Group and many more displayed products of irrigation and lawn care equipment. Major government departments that participated in the Expo included Telangana State Horticulture Department, Tamil Nadu State Horticulture Department and Mizoram State Horticulture Department.



Segments
The popular expo held at HA Exhibition ground showcased tools and technologies from almost all key segments. It featured many simultaneous shows along with the expo.



Indian Flower & Plant Excellence Awards
The Indian Flower & Plant Excellence Awards, a glittering ceremony organized by Delhi based Indian Conventions; Wafisilpa Entertainments was conducted on 23rd February 2018 at Hotel Orchid, Pune, India that brought together professionals, corporate, consultant from the entire Flower, Plant, Horticulture, and Green and allied Industry.



The program was for recognizing organizations and leaders from the Flower & Plant Industry, who made everlasting impact on the industry. The felicitation was done to appreciate their contribution and endeavors that changed the face of business scenario forever. In addition to this, there was an extremely beneficial experience sharing & panel discussions and keynote speeches by Senior Professionals from different verticals of Industry.



This educative event was indeed a great platform to showcase products, gain association, and establish relationships. The event had the presence of industry leaders on a single platform. During this entire event there was strong presence of MDs, EDs, GMs, Marketing Managers, Purchase managers, Brand Heads, growers and other professionals of Floriculture & Plant Industry and also members of Planting materials, Floristry, Green House technology, Tissue Culture.



It was an award ceremony & convention, involving participation from flower, plant, horticulture & green industry.

Indian Floral Artist Championship
To streamline the process, iflora in association with 13th Int'l FloraExpo took the initiative of launching the first Indian Floral Artist Championship, 2018 (IFAC). Professionals presented the latest trends in floral art.


 
The championship was organized during the three-day event. The awards were given to exhibitors for their notable displays. The results were announced on 25th February -

Meeting of Indian Greenhouse Manufacturers' Association (IGMA)
The Expo also organized the third meeting of the Indian Greenhouse Manufacturers' Association (IGMA) on 24th February. The agenda included points on specifications of greenhouses, GST, subsidies and empanelment etc. President IGMA, Vishwas Jogdand through his thought evoking speech emphasized the need to spread awareness about indoor use of flowers.



Members further stated that regarding GST and subsidies, IGMA needs experts to formulate design and technical standards. Rajeeb Roy mentioned that quality is uppermost consideration. The role of NABARD also needs to be clarified in regard to the greenhouse industry. MB Naqvi, CEO, Media Today Group mentioned that all assistance and help will be available to IGMA in executing its activities.

Networking & Trading Opportunities
13th Int'l FloraExpo 2018 proved to be the ideal meeting point for all the major stakeholders of the industry. The 2018 edition of event series had a major thrust on the emerging concepts of green living such as vertical gardening, floral arrangements and flower pot arrangements apart from innovative products. The exhibition had a vast footfall of more than 20,000 visitors providing a great exposure. Many first time exhibitors were overwhelmed by the positive response that they received from the trade visitors. The premier meeting ground had displays of products from US, Holland, Israel, Nepal, Korea, Portugal, China and many other countries. Several varieties of flowers along with pot-plants, nursery plants, plant technology, biotechnology and greenhouse technology were on display.



The event catered to the demand of the emerging landscape and vertical gardening industry. The showcase of flowers, seeds, bulbs, planting materials, greenhouse technologies and gardening related tools helped the industry professionals who are looking for new products, techniques and devices that are highly effective and cost-efficient for upgrading of knowledge and their business.

The concurrent events facilitated the diversification of Indian agriculture. The Expo offered a great opportunity for launching unique landscape & gardening ideas, concepts, products, services, accessories and equipment from the industry. There was a display of every segment of agriculture and horticulture.

The organizers were happy with the results they managed to achieve in the edition. Judging by the comments, Flora Expo certainly left a lasting impression on the exhibitors and visitors. This was a positive signal to the organizers who are inspired to carry the expo to the next year with greater vigour and zeal. The dates for the next edition have been announced as 22-23-24 February 2019.
