More than grasses at the Hoffman market

For a few hours last week, Hoffman Nursery “sold” more than grasses. An employee committee set up a market stocked with gently-used goods donated by employees. Then they all got a chance to shop the market using special “Hoffman Bucks.” For every Hoffman Buck they spent, the nursery donated a dollar to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Those with unspent Hoffman Bucks could donate their bucks outright.

Market items included everything from fancy scarves to sweatshirts and insulated lunch bags to wine glasses. There were even a few kitchen items where it wasn’t clear what they did! But the committee figured it all out and pulled off a fun and successful event.

Check out the photos at the Hoffman Nursery website.
