NL: Concerns over Brexit by chrysanthemum growers
In December last year, Dutch flower export to England dropped suddenly by 14%. The crop for which this was most apparent, is the chrysanthemum: one in three of Dutch-grown flowers crosses the North Sea. The effects of Brexit, already announced in April last year, were initially not so bad. Since Theresa May has indicated to go for the ‘hard’ exit, the situation has changed.

A Dutch financial daily newspaper spoke with one of the biggest chrysanthemum growers in the Netherlands, Cees Dekker of Dekker Chrysanthemums. He is concerned, but at the same time has faith in the resilience of the market.
The article, which also contains a background of the (developments in) the Chrysanthemum market, can be read on the FD.nl website in the Dutch language.
