Australia: NGIA joins Hort Connections 2017 as co-host

The very beginning of the Australian horticulture supply chain will be represented at Hort Connections 2017, as Nursery and Garden Industry Australia Limited (NGIA) becomes the latest co-host for the industry conference and Trade Show, to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 15-17 May.

NGIA joins Australian Organic, Onions Australia, Irrigation Australia, Central Markets Association of Australia, Fresh Markets Australia, Potatoes South Australia and Growcom to deliver the event, which is set to become the most influential space for networking, education and business for the entire fresh produce industry in Australia.

“Hort Connections 2017 will bring together the leaders in the world of fresh vegetables, fruit and cut flowers to conduct business and examine trends and topics of common interest,” said AUSVEG National Marketing Manager Nathan McIntyre.

“It is only fitting to include representatives from nursery products and services in Australia, so delegates can better understand the importance of getting it right at the very start of the growing process.”

NGIA CEO Peter Vaughan said Hort Connections 2017 presented a valuable opportunity to showcase the important work of the nursery sector in Australian horticulture.

“NGIA is very pleased to have become a co-host of Hort Connections 2017, given the importance of the nursery sector being the starter and supplier of the plant stock at the beginning of the production horticulture supply chain,” said Mr Vaughan.

“We want to engage with the entire horticulture industry to highlight the importance of supplying high health, high quality, true-to-type material to the producers of this vital area of production agriculture in Australia.”

“If you are a part of the industry, looking to do business with the industry or simply want to learn more about future opportunities, Hort Connections 2017 has something for every segment of the fresh produce value chain and all the industries that support it,” said PMA A-NZ CEO Darren Keating.

Registrations for Hort Connections 2017 are now open, with early bird rates closing on 17 March.
