Presscon and the Canadian entrepreneur Gabe Schieven are collaborating to establish a subsidiary in the Okanagan region (Canada). This Presscon branch is to serve as a launchpad for various projects across North America. Its focus is supplying products to industries such as horticulture, breweries, wineries, and fire prevention.
"Our plan involves setting up a warehouse and an office in the Okanagan region. We handle our own sales, as well as those of Presscon NL, to smoothen the process for our customers. We assemble equipment here in Canada and offer service and maintenance from the same location. We aim to provide the same customer experience in North America as in Europe," says Schieven.

Immediately enthusiastic
Gabe Schieven was introduced to Presscon's products for the first time in early 2023 and was immediately enthusiastic about them. "I am a Canadian entrepreneur with an academic background. I studied mechanical engineering and chemistry at the University of British Columbia. During my professional career, I have explored various fields. From research and development in physics (especially the intriguing world of cold plasma) to chemistry with a focus on pharmaceuticals. It was here that I first heard of Presscon and became acquainted with their products."
Three-month working visit
"In the fall of 2023, I spent three rewarding months at Presscon in the Netherlands. I was very curious to see if I could help Presscon with expanding its presence in North America. When I was first introduced to Presscon's innovative products in early 2023, I was immediately sold on them. I saw these systems's potential for businesses in Canada and the US, so I embarked on this working visit."
Technically trained
Schieven is an engineer by profession and not a commercial type. "Let me be clear: I do not see myself as a typical salesman. My real goal is to contribute to the growth of Presscon in North America. Whether it's about offering more cost-effective options providing maintenance for installed systems or about promoting environmentally friendly solutions, my goal is to support our potential customers in achieving their objectives."
