The West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association held its annual Winter Symposium on Wednesday in Charleston.
The West Virginia Nursery & Landscape Association has been around since 1939, working towards educating the public and enhancing the quality of life for those who live in the Mountain State.
"We look at more diseases that are attacking certain species, or if an invasive plant is being planted a lot, we work a lot with the Department of Agriculture and their plant group," executive director Julie Robinson said.
However, it starts at the root. In 2016, West Virginia farmers produced more than $700 million in sales crops, livestock, fruits, and vegetables.
