Qatar Airways is collaborating with Dronamics to enhance its fresh produce transportation capabilities. The partnership focuses on the trial use of drones for the delivery of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, aiming to expand the airline's business in this sector. To support this initiative, Qatar Airways is investing in new facilities and equipment.
"This has allowed us to increase our capacity for transit, so we can cater now for more transit cargo for perishables," stated Miguel Rodriguez. The airline primarily operates its perishable goods transportation from South America and Africa to Europe. Despite the network being consistently at full capacity, the challenge remains to expand capacity to specific destinations, notably the US.
