Heating up with Mabre’s Biomass Range:

"The biomass heating has zero CO2 emissions"

Mabre has been supplying the agricultural sector with heating and ventilation equipment for 50 years now and hasn't been sitting still in that time. They have been looking to become more sustainable and, for that reason, have developed the Biomass range with zero CO2 impact, according to the company.

Mabre's Biomass range was already introduced way back in 1990 and has since been a significant part of the company's turnover, accounting for some 60%, selling in Canada, USA, France, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe.

One company that is already very happy with its Mabre air heaters is the Suedkultur agricultural company, which is owned by Manfred Geier and C. and based in Bolzano, Italy. They grew a wide range of flowering and aromatic Mediterranean potted plants in over 200,000 m² of greenhouses and were looking for a way to optimize heating costs. For this, they turned to the GDS 350 Air Heaters that run on biomass, in this case, crushed olive stones, a product easily available in the Puglia region given the large quantity of olive plantations.

"This option was not only economically significant but also environmentally. The biomass heating has zero CO2 emissions since the CO2 emitted during combustion had previously been stored by the plant in its growth and production process of fruits. Overall, we are more than happy with the results," Mr. Manfred Geier confirms.

"With our fifty years of experience in production, Mabre air heaters have maximum efficiency and durability. We ensure indirect combustion (100% hot air free from combustion smoke) thanks to the combustion chamber and stainless steel tube exchanger," says William Maestroni, manager at Mabre.

Under the Biomass range falls the Air Heater models GDS and GDP with automatic loading and GDM with manual loading, as well as the Water Boiler models DS-K and DS, both with automatic loading as well. But according to William, more are soon to join.

"We will continue to develop products that help our customers optimize heating costs. We definitely plan to have more of our products join the Biomass range in the future, as well as provide other sustainable ranges and alternatives. Being ever attentive to new market needs, we are always studying new products and improving existing ones. Many times by customizing existing range," William concludes.
