US: Floriculture event at MSU

Producers, floral enthusiasts, retail florists, and Master Gardeners were engaged in a day of education at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center, Biloxi, Mississippi on March 26. Rachel Bond, owner and lead designer of Pine Hills Floral Design, a wedding and event florist, and general manager of Pine Hills Nursery, Pass Christian, Mississippi led talks, demonstrations, and a workshop using ornamental plant materials suitable for the Gulf Coast climate.

A third-generation horticulturist, Bond is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. Degree in Horticulture. Her nursery's marketing efforts aim to increase consumer interaction with gardening, involving young and seasoned customers in events such as Fall Frenzy, Toddler Tuesday, Yoga at the Nursery, and Snip and Sip floral design classes.
