Ralf Koedijker, Glastuinbouwshop:

New crop protection supplier enters Dutch market

With the Glastuinbouwshop, the Dutch market has one more new supplier of crop protection products. The company was founded by Klaas Lusthof, who, from his experience with biocide and material protection products at wholesaler Q-chem, discovered that his suppliers also had products available that were suitable for (greenhouse) horticulture. With plenty of ideas in product development, he saw an opening in the market, so at the start of this year he launched the webshop.

Klaas' colleague, Ralf Koedijker: "At the end of 2016 it began with the launch of our own brand of sticky traps. This was done under the name Pro Trap. The Pro Trap has been tested in a number of large greenhouse horticulture companies and for various crops: among others for chrysanthemums, lisianthus, roses, orchids, tomatoes and strawberries. The results were excellent: the sticky traps are comparable to existing brands in quality, but are cheaper."

Pro Trap is now available in yellow and blue, with dry (hot melt) glue and so-called wet glue and in 2 sizes (10 x 25 cm and 25 x 40 cm). Shortly they will have available, also under the name Pro Trap, sticky rolls of 100 x 0.3 m and 100 x 0.15 m, in yellow and blue, and on request it is also possible to provide rolls tailor made.

Expansion
Thus a foundation was laid and now it comes down to expanding the assortment. "In the current assortment, we also have for sale various types of traps against the Japanese fruit fly (Drosophila Suzukii) and biocide products against wood-attacking organisms, including the well-known product Wolsit KD10 (which is widely used to protect wooden harvest boxes against fungus). It is the intention to further expand the assortment with pheromones, biological and chemical pesticides in the coming period."

In their own words, what makes Glastuinbouwshop.nl stand out from the competition is that prices are very attractive due to direct supply to the (greenhouse) horticulture sector without unnecessary intermediary trade. The company also aims to be as transparent as possible, such as by listing all prices on the website.
