NL: Students get acquainted with flower processing systems

Technical Business Management students of Hogeschool Inholland had the opportunity to get to know Bercomex during the Mix & Match event. The students displayed a keen interest in traineeships and graduation assignments at Bercomex.

Students looking for traineeships or graduation assignments in technology
On Thursday the 20th of April, the Technical Business Management students association staged a major traineeship event in the AFAS Stadium. Bercomex was present here, together with 52 other businesses, to give a brief company presentation about their flower processing systems to an audience of approx. 500 students. These students came from a variety of disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Technical Business Management.

Getting to know the Bercomex flower processing systems
Niels Beers, Engineering Manager and Heleen Martens, HR Manager, were in attendance on behalf of Bercomex to provide more information to the students about the possibilities that Bercomex has to offer in terms of traineeships and graduation assignments. Round table discussions gave the students the opportunity to ask specific questions about the various departments of Bercomex and the flower processing solutions that are designed within the business. It was especially the innovation that Bercomex stands for, and the Engineering and R&D involved, that aroused the interest of many students. A striking detail was the relatively large numbers of students from a 'green background', for example through family members who run a flower nursery.

Possibilities at Bercomex for traineeships and graduation assignments
Every year, students from various disciplines find an informative and challenging study assignment at Bercomex. This does not imply that there is a fixed offer of trainee assignments; practice shows that there is much scope for students who come up with good ideas for traineeships/graduation assignments and following consultation with Bercomex they lead to interesting and fitting traineeships or graduation assignments.
