VitroPlus names fern after former chairman

Last week the former chairman (Mr. Nicolaas Ruiten) of the greenhouse horticulture association in the Netherlands stepped down. His board was looking for a suitable gift to offer to Mr. Ruiten at his farewell reception. Because he is known to be a real fern lover, his board asked Vitro Plus to name a new fern after Nico.

At his farewell reception Mr. Nicolaas Ruiten baptized his own new fern, that is called Nicolas Diamond from now on. An international name was chosen, because they have a lot of customers abroad. Diamond is translated literally, and known from card games like poker and bridge.

This new species is expected to be added to the assortment in about 1 year from now.
