NL: Plantarium aims to attract more growers

The cooperation between Varb and Plantarium that started last year will continue to grow this year. They will facilitate their members'/participants' opportunities for trade with a joint growers' presentation. Unique this year is the joining of forces in one hall; all the growers can easily be found by visitors to the trade fair. Participating growers can now choose what type of stand they want, which is something they desired. The layout of the hall will depend on the type of stand but the visitor will experience his visit as a single, entirely green presentation. Varb will have a central location to facilitate the visitors to the trade fair in their digital search for the products offered. Greenport Boskoop also acknowledges the importance of a joint presentation by the growers and calls on its members to take part.

During the information session, the set-up and layout of Plantarium 2018 in relation to GROEN-Direkt were discussed. The set-up is now final and you can orientate yourself on the map.

More space for suppliers
On Plantarium's new exhibition grounds, suppliers will literally have more space on which to present and demonstrate their innovations. A small stage is available to suppliers at the centre of the space, on which short pitches will regularly be held throughout the day. Trade visitors have the opportunity to visit the stands to get information before and after the pitches.

Garden Trials and Trade
On 12, 13 and 14 June 2018, coinciding with the FlowerTrials, the first edition of the event Garden Trials and Trade will be organised in the Plantarium building. It is the main event at which breeding successes and the retail assortment of woody plants and perennials available will be presented. Up till now, 22 companies have registered. There is space for 30 to 40 companies that, with novelties, introductions and innovations would like to meet decision-makers and those who have an influence on international garden centres, construction markets, supermarkets and other sales points, or growers and branch professionals. Submission of novelties
Plantarium has always been the number one platform for new introductions. However, the time period 'the end of August' limits the possibilities of offering a broad assortment for the showcases. In agreement with the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society (KVBC), the Nursery Trade Fair Foundation aims to hold multiple showcases throughout the year. In 2018 this will take place in June, during Garden Trials and Trade, and in August during Plantarium.
