Terra Nova Nurseries shows off Agastache Poquito Butter Yellow

Terra Nova Nurseries announced a sneak peek of Agastache Poquito Butter Yellow ('TNAGAPBY') PPAF. This variety’s low, compact and bushy habit make it suitable as a border perennial or container color spot. It is also well suited for mixed-bed use. The bloom times for the perennial are from June to September.

The plant is a new addition to Terra Nova Nurseries’ Poquito series, which includes four varieties that are even more compact than the also-popular Kudos series’ plants.

Agastache Poquito Butter Yellow has glossy leaves with yellow flowers throughout the summer. The perennial’s most active growing season is in the spring.

U.S.D.A. Hardiness Zones for Agastache Poquito Butter Yellow are five to 10, and the variety offers the ability for full-sun exposure. Mature plant height is 10”, with a width of 15”, and an extended flower height of 13”.

Special uses allow the new variety to be a multi-purpose garden plant in the Deep South. The fragrant Agastache Poquito Butter Yellow makes a great cut flower. The plant is deer-resistant, and it serves as a hummingbird and pollinator attractor. It is drought tolerant once established. Colorful companions include Terra Nova Nurseries’ Heuchera ‘Cherry Cola’, Coreopsis ‘Citrine’ and Kniphofia ‘Lemon Popsicle’.

Terra Nova Nurseries has created a “Plant Profile” page and “Grower Recipe” specific to this new variety, so growers interested in orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements, and other insights provided by the breeding team. These documents can be viewed and downloaded for printing at: www.terranovanurseries.com. Growers can contact their Terra Nova Nurseries representatives or email the sales team at sales@terranovanurseries.com.
